Black Ops: Most Pirated Game 2010

Call of Duty: Black Ops is the most pirated game in 2010. According to torrentfreak.com. Exactely 4,270,000 times since November 2010 for PC only. Incredibile! Including the consoles, there is a total of 5.2 million pirated Black Ops. Bad news for producer, publisher, and the whole game industry.

I didn't download any of these, I'm very out of touch with what's around at the moment!

Damn, it became the top pirated game and it was only pirated for about two months. That other game started getting pirated in January and is only number 4.

Who cares about Activision. They're earning enough and i hate that Bobby Kotick, motherf...
COD 4 was brilliant but everything after that was pure shit.

Campaigns are too short( c'maan, 5-6 hours?)and in the case of Black Ops they just copypasted neary everything. Nothing new. Yes, i still hate them for not implementing the dedicated servers!Thinking they could F*** with the pc gamers huh?

But we still have Blizzard who's cuddling us, and EA is on the right track again. Activision will fall into the same hole EA's been in. But there are these retarded people who still buy COD every year, I don't understand why? Last year we, pc gamers, obliterated C&C4 because they went the wrong way. C&C4 was a shit game and the worklready fiers who made it were already fired before it came out. I dont pay for a game just to make the CEO's richer and then kick out their workers...(same happened to Infinity Ward and Modern Warfare 2)

Looks like i'm still raged at mw2 lol xd

Lol, I don;t think they're actually losing any money though. The people who know how to download aren't the type that spends a lot of money in the industry anyways.

I read this too. Amazing. Happy New year!!

why people pirate this game when you can't play online with the pirated version? go out and buy the real one!

4 million? wow man this seems a little to much to me too

Teutorix said...

I download games and you should know that those numbers are from public trackers. If you inlcude all trackers, private trackers and odc shares 4 million is barely 1/4 of the actual numbers

Shiver me timbers! 4.27 million, that's a lot of pirates.

cooperlife said...

how is this bad news for the game industry, producers or publishers? You realize downloads don't equate to sales right? If you took away the ability to download it, it doesn't mean 4.27 million more people would have payed for the game. It's not the same thing at all.

Pirating (or as I like to call it, sharing) is simply the best way to get your content out to lots of people. Everyone can try it before they buy it. You can even send the download to your friend to check out, and they might end up becoming huge fans of the franchise. I personally have downloaded games and movies and music that I thought was so good it deserved my money, so I went out and paid for it. I've also downloaded a lot of bad games, music, and movies that I'm glad I didn't pay for because it didn't deserve a dime.

video games have been around for a long time. If pirating was really such an awful problem, it would have caused the death to many industries already. I'm pretty sure pirating has done nothing but help these industries though, by spreading it around to so many people to try for free.

Damn... I knew people pirated games and all, but didn't think THAT many did... (and as Teutorix mentioned, that only includes PUBLIC trackers, so that number is even higher!)
