Assassin's Creed Brotherhood was released for PC. Here are infos of what the game is about.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood or better 'Assassin's Creed 2.5', is the third game in the assassin’s series. It was released for consoles on November 18, 2010, and now the PC version of the game was released.

Why it's called Assassin’s Creed 2.5 ? Because it has a direct connection to the second game and the hero is the same. This is the story of Ezio Auditore de Firenze, an assassin about the 16th century alternatively the story of Desmond Miles, Ezios' forebear in present. The way of Ezio goes to Rom, which is a very good setting for assassinating, climbing or exploring. Ubisoft Montreal, the developer, hadn't forgotten to introduce the sights like the great Cosseum or the Angle Castle in missions. So the game looks much more beautiful and maybe you can project Ezio's thoughts at this time. What's about new game features? You can say Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is a worthy sequel in mission design and story.

The missions: more variety and still more work for an assassin. Beside the main story, which I don't want to disclose, there are a lot of quests in each corner of Rom. For example Ezio has to shoot with cannons or to navigate a small ship for reaching his targets. Ezio Auditore uses a big weapon arsenal: from crossbows and pistols to sword and two small blades, which can be hidden, but he can also command his own group of assassins (=Brotherhood). The story is exciting, still in the late game.
Conclusion: For everyone, who like to play action games: This is a must have. Beautiful landscape, nice gameplay, and good story. There is only one thing that is not so good, is the balance. Many fights are too easy especially when your 'brother assassins' help Ezio.

[Review] Gothic 1

Back in 2001 a game called Gothic was released by JoWood.

Hi, I am PartilleJohnny, the Junior Editorial Assistant of this blog, and this is my first post.

Gameplay - The nameless hero must kill monsters or wild animals and complete quests to earn experience. With each level-up you gain 10 skill points, which are used to increase basic attributes (e. g. strenght), improve skills, and learn trading. Some skills like Sneaking or Acrobatics have only one 'level' to learn, while the fighting skills (one-handed weapons, two-handed weapons, crossbows and bows) have two proficiency levels. The main attributes are increased 99in 1 or 5 point increments, up to 100 (they start at 10). Every trainig cost ore which is Gothic's money and only potions can cross this limit.Your character can loot animals to take e.g. some meat. He eats and drinks to regenerate his hit points. There are many activities like playing lute or sawing wood, but these things only for the atmosphere. You can join one of the three camps (New Camp, Old Camp and Swamp Camp). The major difference is that Swamp Camp members cannot become mages. Every camp has its very own atmosphere.

Story - In general humans are fighting against the orcs. The King Rhobar II needs many ore, which can use to forge powerful weapons, to win the war against the orcs. He orders 12 magicians to build up a magical dome over the mining colony. However, the Barrier goes out of control and grows large enough to cover the entire valley, trapping the magicians themselves inside, and giving the convicts a chance to kill the distracted guards and take control over the colony. The king needs an agreement with the prisoners to trade goods for ore. You were thrown in the mining colony to dig ore. Before you get in, a mage gave you a letter to deliver it to the fire mages of the old camp.

Other - The publisher Piranha Bytes used their selfmade ZenGin engine. This engine was only used for Gothic 1 and Gothic 2.
Gothic has got good criticisms, scoring an average of 80% and 81/100 on Game Rankings, although the game has many bugs.

Crysis 2 Demo Released

The PC multi-player demo of Crysis 2 was released today by EA.

After the Xbox 360 Crysis 2 multiplayer demo was released about one month ago, on January 25, 2011, now PC player can test Crytek's newest first person shooter. Not only the gameplay but the performance on your PC can now be seen directly in the multi-player part of Crysis 2. Nvidia has released Benchmarks with different video cards, beginning with the 8800 GT, which is reaching over 40 frames per second with the lowest quality and 1680x1050 pixels. The GTX 580, Nvidia's top video card, is reaching over 140 FPS and even 70 FPS with the 'Hardcore Settings'. For the whole Benchmarks, see Crysis-2-Benchmarks-by-Nvidia.

You can download this 1.6 GB demo from many sources, like EA, Gamershell or Mycrysis, including two very different maps and two modes for a maximum of 12 players. The first map 'Skyline' features some rooftop and indoor fights and the second one called 'Pier 17' is also a mixture of indoor and outdoor but on a destroyed harbour. Both can be played as a Team Instant Action map, meaning classic Team Deathmatch, or as a Crash Site map where you have to capture alien drop pods, like control points, and defend them against the enemy team. The full version of Crysis 2 will include six game modes and twelve maps with New York City as setting, so you can play 72 different versions of the multi-player. It also supports DirectX 9, DX10 and DX11. Unfortunetly the demo supports only DX9, neither DX10, nor DX11, so the full potential of the graphics isn't realised yet.
So far there are a few problems with the demo because the log-in server are overloaded at the moment. The log-in is necessary so many players can't play at the moment. Crytek is working for a solution.

In the multi-player part of Crysis 2 there will be 50 ranks to get, and if you buy the Limited Edition, beside other features, you'll get boosted to Rank 5 immediately. With each rank you earn different upgrades for your weapons and your nanosuit. In the demo you can play to rank 10. The release date of the Playstation 3 demo is March 15, 2011.

Release of Crysis 2 is March, 24, 2011 for PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
