Minecraft will have its own fair on November 18 and November 19, 2011, in the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. There are only 19 days left until the fair starts but the problem is: The tickets are already sold out, even the price was set to 99$.

Minecraft is extremely successful, that's for sure. Now Minecraft's founder Markus 'Notch' Persson had the idea of an own fair just for minecraft and its fans in Las Vegas. The ticket also includes a special Scrolls alpha code and the Cobalt game.

If you were lucky enough to get a ticket, congratualtions. The doors will open each day at 10am.

[Solved] Battlefield 3 - Kicked by Admin

Problem: After joining a server in Battlefield 3 multiplayer, you get kicked from it instantly or after a short time with the popping message KICKED BY ADMIN.

Solution: The problem is not the admin as you might have already noticed. It's the anti-cheat tool Punkbuster that kicks you out. Follow these steps to solve the issue:

1. You have to download the latest version of the anti-cheat tool Punkbuster from their official website. Open the zip file and extract it somewhere, on your desktop for example.

2. Next you run Punkbuster by clicking on the pbsetup.exe in the extracted folder. When the Terms of Agreement appear, click I Agree.

3. When the Punkbuster program has started, click on the top left-hand corner on Add a Game and Battlefield 3.After that make sure to click on Add Game to add Battlefield 3 to the list.

4. The last thing to do is clicking on Check for Updates so Punkbuster updates for Battlefield 3 and the anti-cheat tool is up to date.

These four steps solve the kicked by admin problem many players have, thanks to scene-gamers.de for this solution.

Diablo 3 - Console Release Is Official

It's official now. During Blizzcon 2011, Josh Mosquiera from Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that there will be a console version of Diablo 3.
A possible console version of D3 has only been a rumour - until now. After Destructoid has interviewed Josh as Blizzard's Lead Console Designer, the news was offical.

But if only three people are working on this title, the game will be released somewhere far in the future, while the PC version of Diablo 3 will be released early next year. Its official release date was changed about a month ago. Unfortunately, Blizzard denied a public beta for D3 so only PC gamers can explore the world showed by the map you see on the right.

Battlefield 3 Maps Revealed - Part Two

After these three new maps which were revealed Friday, today another four maps are presented here: Grand Bazaar, Seine Crossing, Noshahr Canals, and Kharg Island.

Grand Bazaar
This map is set in Teheran, Iran. As Russians and US Forces reach the ancient city of Teheran, they fight at this control point so tight and close urban combats can be expected by the player.

On top of that, the city is already halfway destroyed because the war here started two weeks ago so you jump right into the battle. Huge tank fights or big vehicle warfare is most likely missing here although every game mode is supported by this map. Grand Bazaar is built like a mirror, meaning both Russians and US Forces have similar bases, pathes and possibilities to climb heights to get the best view of the battlefield.

Seine Crossing
As a geographer you might know that the Seine, the river, flows through Paris. Meaning this map is set in Paris, France.

The whole of Paris is occupied by the Russians but the US Army invades the city to get it back. They fight right in Downtown in the rich and exclusive streets of Paris with tanks, smaller vehicles but also tight infantry clashes are included. Like Grand Bazaar, the map is split in the middle by the river Seine. The special: There are big pathes for tanks and other vehicles but also small alleyways for infantry, or small staircases to get into the buildings. As tank, your only chance is to blow up thw whole building.

Noshahr Canals
This battlefield is set at the Iranian coast, at the most important harbor of Iran's coast. By this Noshahr Canals, the setting of the map is very industrial and dirty.

It's cruicial for winning the war to get control over this port because of the strategically important location. Essential ressources and materials can be offloaded there and transported further into Iran. Key feature of the map is that you can fight as infantry, driving land vehicles, or fast boat gameplay.
If you play the Rush mode, you attack the map coming from a carrier ship and reach the beach by amphibious vehicles, boats, or even helicopters. So get your RPG ready!

Kharg Island
This island is the most important oil reserve and under Russian control. This export terminal must be obtained by the US to deny the access of the Russians to the oil.

As Noshahr Canals, this map features boat and other amphibious vehicle gameplay but compared to the Canals map, the map is bigger and more concepted for vehicle war. To get onto the island you have to break through a well defended beach outpost and once this goal is achieved, a beachhead must be destroyed before the map shifts further into the island.

Battlefield 3 - Three New Maps Revealed

Dice has revealed three whole new maps of Battlefield 3: Teheran Highway, Damavand Peak, and Operation Firestorm. Here they come:

Teheran Highway
This map is set in a small area of Teheran, Iran. Infantry units are fighting a real close combat fight because the streets and highways are disputed by both sides, Russia and the US.
Niklas Ã…strand, the designer of the map, says:

One of the inspirations for this map was a photo of a night time skyline of Tehran which now is basically the same vista that is available in the game. You start up on the hills above the city outskirts and eventually work your way into town. This atmospheric night-time map, where you can see rockets lighting up the sky, has a balanced mix between vehicle and infantry focus. It plays length-wise and starts semi-open with plenty of room for vehicles, but ends on a much more urban and tight note with less focus on vehicles and more on infantry.

Damavand Peak
This rough and wild maps is set in cold winter mountains with strategically important radar installations, meaining this point is crucial in defending the whole area. By the way, all game modes are supported by this map.
Niklas Ã…strand thoughts about DP:

Damavand Peak, internally known as Base Jump, is built on the idea that we want players to be able to base jump, and features our most extreme height differences ever in a Battlefield map. Attackers in Rush and Squad Rush will start high up on a mountain ridge above a mining facility. The only way down into the valley is to somehow make the 500 meter descent. The further the attackers progress in the map, the more vehicle warfare will be present. There is also a large tunnel section dug into the mountain side at the bottom of the map, and the view when you look up at the starting location is spectacular.

Operation Firestorm
Set in Iran, the soldiers fight at a oil station and like Damavand Peak, controlling this point means controlling the whole sector and its facilities. This map is huge and due to the desert special vehicle warfare including helicopters are included.
Niklas Ã…strand describes the map:

One of our largest and most vehicle-friendly map, Operation Firestorm is the classic Battlefield gameplay taken to the extremes. Size-wise, and with some puzzle skills, you could actually place three Atacama Deserts -- one of the largest maps from Battlefield: Bad Company 2 -- within the playable area of Operation Firestorm. This is a wide-open desert map where the burning oil fields in one direction are contrasted by clear blue sky in the other direction. Construction sites dotting the area bring interesting possibilities for infantry to hide in elevated positions, spot vehicles, and take them down by mortar or RPG.

Battlefield 3 - Too Controversial?

Battlefield 3 was rated by the ESRB who say BF3 is highly voilent and controversial. Here are three main points, quoted from ESRB:

1. "characters sometimes scream and emit large splashes of blood when shot"
2. "In one sequence, a restrained character's throat is slit (off-screen)"
3. "In another, players shoot police officers to complete a mission objective."

These controversial situations where even civilians are killed, remember of the airport level scandal in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. A small reminder: You played together with a bunch of terrorist killing hundreds of civilians in and airport. Not for completing the mission but for no reason.

Some months ago, DICE made clear that there would be no civil victims in Battlefield 3.

Diablo 3 - USK 16 Rating

Diablo 3 has been rated for Germany: The game is suitable for people who are at least 16 years old relating to violent or sexual content. Due to massive blood and gore in D3 Blizzard wasn't sure whether to cut the game or release it uncut.

Fortunately, the Germans are lucky to get the whole game content with exploding zombies or burning monsters. The hack 'n' slay is now ready for a release in Germany. Although Diablo 3 is still in the progress of developing, this barriers were broken.

As said before, this is only important for Germany. The German "Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle", meaning Self-Monitoring of Entertainment Software, is like PEGI, the Pan European Game Information. They rate computer games regarding the suitability for children, from 0 to 18 years of age.

Modern Warfare 3 - The Survival Mode

This new gameplay video shows the Spec-Ops Survival Mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - set in Paris, France. The Survival Mode is easy to explain: You fight against waves of enemies, the longer you last, the better you score.

Most likely, this mode will replace a campaign co-op mode although I would personally prefer co-op. By the way, the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be set in twelve different cities all around the world, besides Paris there are New York, London, Berlin, and even the famous Dubai as last mission included.

CoD: MW3 will be released November 8 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. However, further information and impression of the survival mode can be seen in the video below.
